About Me
"Giving birth is an experience carried not only into the first days of motherhood but also throughout life, having far-reaching effects on the mother's self-esteem and confidence.” –Gayle Peterson
I believe that pregnancy and birth are natural processes and that when in tune with her natural ability; mother knows what is best for her and her family. I strive to give back to women the strength and empowerment over their birth experiences that have been slowly eroded over time. I do this by first educating women of birth options and presenting factual information of those options so that each and every mother can make an informed and logical decision about what is best for her and her baby. By offering individualized continuity of care mothers have the support they need and gain confidence to reclaim birth.

I am a proud mother of 8 beautiful children. I have gone through various birth experiences including 5 hospital births with 3 different providers, 2 planned unassisted homebirths and 1 planned homebirth under the care of a midwife. One of my births was a vaginal breech and was an amazing experience. I have also suffered loss through 2 early miscarriages. I have encountered many, many challenges with breastfeeding and have worked hard to triumph over them. I pray that my personal experiences in addition to my professional studies can bring encouragement to others.

I believe that the giving forth of life is a miracle and deserves to be honored. I believe in the importance of educating oneself about birthing options as well as connecting with the amazing inner-strength that God blessed women with to birth naturally. I believe it is the mother's duty to accept responsibility for the choices she makes regarding her birth. I believe it is the duty of birth attendants to support and encourage the mother, to give their all, and do their best to maintain a safe and comfortable environment in which she can feel free to birth naturally and make competent decisions.

Believing that each and every birth is unique and sacred to the family, it is my desire to see women author their birth stories with confidence and love, no matter what transpires along the way. It is my hope that every mother's birth is more than satisfying, and that it makes her feel complete as a woman, as a companion, and as a mother.

And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
